Description

In this meeting, David Ewald provided an update on end of the year progress and revenue from 2019, discussed possible new options for approaches to compensation, and discussed the progress on a potential move for the company. Kathie Pugaczewski provided an update on technology, including the transition to Sharepoint. Finally, Sue Peterson and Joe Flannigan were panelists to discuss the pluses and minuses of working remotely long-term.

David has been with Ewald Consulting since 1986. He was named Vice President and managing partner of the firm in 1988 and became President and CEO in 1998. He has a M.B.A. from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota with a concentration in business, government and society, a discipline that involved extensive research and study of the impact of trade and professional associations on society. David served as president of the Board of the Minnesota Government Relations Council in 1997. He served as president of the Midwest Society of Association Executives (MSAE) board in 2002-03 and is an active member of the American Society of Association Executives. He earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 1994.

Kathie Pugaczewski is the Vice President of Marketing Communications and Technology. She has more than 30 years of association management experience with a focus on technology platform strategy, marketing communications, conference management, continuing education and certification programs. She joined Ewald Consulting in 2005. Previously, Kathie worked for the Midwest Association of Association Executives (MSAE) as Marketing Director and the Builders Association of Minnesota as Executive Vice President. She has a Bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota and completed the Institute for Organization Management at the University of Notre Dame. In 2003, she earned her CAE designation. In 2009, she earned her Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) designation. In 2019, she earned her Certified Recognition Professional (CRP) designation and her Qualified Association Specialist (QAS) designation.

Sue has more than 25 years of communication and graphic design experience, joining Ewald Consulting in 2002 where she has been the Executive Director for the Association of Girl Scout Executive Staff (AGSES), Managing Director for The Forum: Business Results Through People, and Director of Membership for the Incentive Marketing Association (IMA) while also providing communication and graphic design services for Ewald clients. Previously, Sue has held the positions of communications director, administrative director and volunteer coordinator in several non-profit work environments. She began her professional career with 3M in St. Paul, MN after graduating from Rochester Community & Technical College.

Joe has more than 15 years of experience with Ewald Consutling, and more than 20 years experience in the fields of technology and design.

He has helped design and implement many Learning Management systems, and has also spent more than five years consulting on instructional design for clients, as well as spearheading the production of content for Ewald University.

In addition, Joe has more than 10 years experience in videography and has been a freelance photographer for the last 12 years. His production work has been shown around the globe. He has a B.A. in Strategic Communication from the University of Minnesota.
